A tragic incident occurred in the Turgutlu district of Manisa province today. A student was killed and eight others were injured during a school shooting. This incident follows other recent acts of violence within Turkish educational facilities. In April, an 18-year-old former student opened fire inside a school in Sanliurfa. That attack injured 16 people before the attacker tragically committed suicide. The following day, a 13-year-old student opened fire inside a middle school elsewhere. That horrific attack resulted in 10 deaths and 13 injuries.
