Sultan Haitham Meets Botswana President For Private Diplomatic Talks

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq held a bilateral meeting today. He met with President Joao Manuel Lourenco at the Presidential Palace. The leaders reviewed the excellent relations existing between the two countries. They discussed ways to strengthen ties for mutual benefit. They also reviewed the latest developments on the international scene.

Expanding Bilateral Relations And Economic Partnerships

Officials discussed several pressing issues of common interest. Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi gave a briefing. Angolan Foreign Minister Tete Antoine also participated in the discussion. An expanded official meeting followed the initial private talks. The official Omani delegation and Angolan officials attended this session. They discussed areas of cooperation between the two friendly nations.

Topics included industry, mining, energy, clean energy, and busy ports. They also covered maritime transport, logistics, agriculture, and food security. The Angolan President delivered a welcoming speech to the Omani delegation. He hopes this visit will culminate in new investments. The President stressed that this historic visit represents an advanced stage. It expands the joint economic, investment, and trade partnership.

He pointed to the direct positive results of bilateral cooperation. The African Omani Bank recently opened in Luanda this year. Omani companies have also entered mineral mining investments in Angola. Leaders discussed prospects for future private investment opportunities. These opportunities span agriculture, fisheries, mineral resources, and oil and gas.

His Majesty the Sultan also delivered a speech expressing his gratitude. He highlighted the desire to double the volume of trade soon. The new agreements form a solid foundation for both peoples. Both countries aim to consolidate the foundations of economic diversification.
