5. Mazin Bin Ghadouba Mosque, Samail

This ancient site holds immense historical importance for the entire Omani nation. It remains a crucial surviving piece of early Islamic expansion history. The design remains incredibly simple yet deeply spiritual and incredibly grounding. You can literally feel the ancient history radiating from the thick walls.

Architectural Wonders

Māzin bin Al-Ghaḍūbah founded it after bringing Islam to Oman originally. He built it as the country's very first dedicated place of worship. Experts officially recognize it as the oldest surviving mosque in Oman today. Local people also lovingly call this historic building Masjid Al-Midhmar.
