His Majesty the Sultan Arrives in Astana for Historic State Visit

A Warm Welcome in Kazakhstan

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al-Mu’azzam arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan today. The Omani monarch is beginning a highly anticipated two-day official state visit. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was at the forefront of those receiving and welcoming His Majesty. The welcoming party gathered at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana. The Kazakh President wished His Majesty and his accompanying delegation a pleasant, successful visit. His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with the assembled Kazakh government officials. He also greeted members of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Astana.

Military Escorts and Honors

President Tokayev then shook hands with the esteemed delegation accompanying His Majesty. The two leaders witnessed a formal review of the military guard of honor. The arrival featured impressive displays of respect from the Kazakh armed forces. Upon entering Kazakh airspace, military aircraft escorted the plane carrying His Majesty. Fighter jets belonging to the Kazakh Air Force flew alongside the Royal aircraft. This gesture served as a powerful welcome for His Majesty’s gracious visit. Tomorrow, an official reception ceremony will celebrate the high visit of His Majesty. The ceremony will take place at the majestic Independence Palace in Astana.
